Happy New Year 1987

As we start 2012 it is a timely reminder to remember what was going on 25 years ago in 1987.

■ In January The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index (DJIA) closed above 2,000 for the first time.
■ In July The DJIA Index closed above 2,500 for the first time.
■ In October “Black Monday” arrived The DJIA Index crashed to 1600.
■ In December The DJIA Index closed above 2,000.

Fast forward 25 years to now with the index closing above 12,250, even after what has been an awful year. Continue reading “Happy New Year 1987”
